The Community Development Support Collaborative is a consortium of national and metropolitan Washington-based foundations, corporations, and financial institutions. It is driven by a mission to improve the quality of life in Washington, DC's at-risk neighborhoods and to restore them to their once thriving communities.

The Collaborative has allocated more than $15 million in grant funds to community-based nonprofit organizations. The funds have helped participating nonprofits strengthen their capacity to bring affordable housing, commercial activity, and social services to Washington, DC neighborhoods in need. Groundbreaking.

The Collaborative is a project of Washington Grantmakers, an association of more than 140 private and corporate philanthropies. The Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national nonprofit community development support intermediary, manages the Collaborative, along with the Steering Committee, which is comprised of representatives from each of the funders.
